Message to all members from Eric Banning regarding upcoming umpiring course
If anybody is interested in undertaking umpire training I have been advised that Kent ACO are arranging for both the Stage 1 and Stage 2 courses.
The course is being run by Ken Amos, each course runs for the whole day 6- 8hours with breaks.
He has booked Blean Village hall for Stage 1 on Saturday April 4th. (start time tbc)
He has also booked the hall for Saturday April 18th for Stage 2. (start time tbc)
Normally the cost is £30 pounds for each stage Total £60
However, if you book online at the same time it is Stage 1 £30 + £10 for Stage 2 – which is good value
It is possible that Thanet Cricket Board may be able to assist with some of the costs if it means we can get more indoor umpires
Ken is instructing Edgbaston of the dates plus booking the village hall Blean. However, when I last looked the course was not yet on the website,

It would be really great if a few Thanet cricketers could attend.
Ken has also advised that you actually get free membership of the ACO for the first year. Which is really useful if you do umpire as they insure you.
You would have to join the ACO in future years.
